indoor plants

A selection of my indoor plants. I think this first one is called string of pearls - my favourite at the moment.
Mostly I match up thrifted little vessels to a variety of succulents as these tend to be pretty hardy to grow. The black bowl contains an air plant which is supposed to grow without soil, it appears to be struggling under my care - have you had any experience with these? I need to do a bit more research about them.
This little bird is happy enough with it's spiky stripes.

Lovely. I have been keeping an eye out for sweet little vessels like these. They're good ones, these ones.

They look fabulous.

I love string-of-pearls. My grandma used to grow it, along with another pretty plant called chain-of-hearts.

I have grown an air plant before and kept it amongst some small rocks. It lasted ages before it died. I think I decided to dunk it in water and that was the end of it!
The bird pot was a good find. Very sweet.

Cute! Do you keep them all inside? I brought in some succulents from outside as I love indoor plants, but they didn't like it, and haven't been the same again!

I got an air plant for Christmas and it is starting to look a little worried already! I have followed the directions (a misting or a dunking (and wait until nearly dry before putting it back in it's home) once a week. But it doesn't seem happy to me.

I love the birdy.

Love the string of pearls. My nana had a lovely well established one in a hanging pot when I was little and we of course used to call it the pea plant. Yes, not far from M :)

I learned a lot from here today.
I'm so happy I stumbled upon this site.
Thanks for the good read.

Love your collection of succulents there. I'm going to have to do a little reading on air plants too - have not heard of this before. No dirt - how amazing!!!

oh i have each of these plants! my newest is the string of pearls, i love that one too!! the air plant is a hard one. i have a lot of expearance and have done a lot of research on them. they don't like direct light, put it 5ft or so away from a east or west window. don't mist them too often, maybe once a week for a small one like the one you have. i read that people put them in water for 30 minutes i found that killed mine. i wrote a post all about it over at my blog if you are interested!

The air plant gets it's water from the air, humid, add a bowl of water with rocks and then put the bowl with the air plant on top of it, you can also mist it.
