We've enjoyed a long weekend in these neck of the woods. And lovely sunny weather. Perfect for working out in the garden - weeding and digging vegetable beds to prepare for new plantings.
With lots of heave ho and even a couple of tumbles the last of the beets were pulled out. The smallest one still remembers planting her "beetshoots" last year...
Long weekends are also good for a spot of sewing...I happily finished off a few projects that have been lingering. Had a go at a few types of pockets. I tried the pleated pocket tutorial which I'd bookmarked long before we planted those beets. Slowly but surely I'm learning new skills thanks to the wealth of creative inspiration on the net.
I'm also chuffed with this short sleeved cardigan I just finished. I feel quite a sense of accomplishment to have made this and reckon it will be a handy layering piece for cool mornings. This pattern is available on Ravelry, and I must say it's very simple to follow for a beginner knitter like myself.

So, a pottering sort of weekend, then? A weekend of the very best kind? Tres impressed with that pleated pocket business...
